It is a little known fact that I had a bowling scholarship that I used for college, when I went to Central Missouri State University in 1996. I earned it for the years that I put into bowling at Whiteman Air Force Base. I wasn't a great bowler by any means, but pretty decent for being on the Traveler's Team. I was more known for having fun on the lanes with the likes of my friends Raymond Martinez, Ricky Sirois, Nicholas Eddy, Robert Hamel, Kenny Johnson, Sabrina Forrest, Edwin Harris and a few others along the way.

Around that time one of the great bowling movies came about called 'Kingpin' with Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray. Needless to say it was comical and I caught it on the Epix Channel last night. I couldn't help but stay up and watch it.

Toward the end of the movie, when Harrelson's character, Roy Munson went back to the lanes after not bowling for a long time the song 'Something In the Air' popped on from Thunderclap Newman, which came out in 1969. It was very fitting for the scene and I thought, I'd bring it out of the archives on our Look Back With Doug.

On another note, I can't wait for Strikerz Lanes to open in Sedalia, because I have the need to go bowling after seeing Kingpin.
