2 Warrensburg Police Officers Honored for Saving Man’s Life

Two Warrensburg Police officers have been honored for recently saving a man's life.

The Warrensburg Police Department says that on May 11, Lance Wilkinson went for his morning workout and a short time later he was unconscious on the floor of the cross fit studio.

Warrensburg PD officers Ronnie Catts and Eric Walker were called to CrossFit Believe, located at 303A Hawthorne, where they discovered Mr. Wilkinson unconscious and not breathing.

The officers used CPR and an Automatic Electronic Defibrillator. The press release states that within a short period of time, Mr. Wilkinson was revived and taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The medical staff treating Mr. Wilkinson said the actions of the officers not only saved his life but also prevented permanent physical damage. “The actions of the officers in this situation were exceptional,” said Warrensburg Chief Rich Lockhart, “this situation is the reason we have AED’s in our vehicles and why we are working with our community to update our AED units.”

The WPD is soliciting assistance from the community to replace its aging AED’s. An anonymous donor and Action Realty have donated funds to buy two AED’s. Many other individual donations have been received and will help the purchase.

The Warrensburg PD says it needs to replace 13 AED’s.
