When I was a small kid, my mom stayed at home.  But she didn't just take care of us. There were at least two to three others that she "babysat" during the week.  A couple of them were children of her friends, and some of them would be family.  I think there were only a couple of kids over the years who were recommendations or kids of my dad's work friends.  Most of the time, it was just a core group of about four of us.  Nothing huge. You'd go play in the backyard, come in for lunch, and head back out.

I think there were several houses that ran that way in the 80's.  Then later, as we kids got "old enough", mom went back to work.  Now, things are quite a bit different. Most of the time, kids have to go to a daycare center because folks just can't stay at home anymore.  It's too expensive to go without a job, sometimes.

Luckily I never have had this problem myself, as the girls are in their teens now.  Husbando stayed at home with them until they were about five, and I met them when they were eight. So it got me to thinking, how do people figure out where they are going to take their kids? I'm sure there are a lot of different factors.  Cost, staff, location, amenities, the list must go on and on.

So, let's see if we can help someone out there who's looking for a daycare. Who's your favorite daycare center in Sedalia? Give us the lowdown and we'll see who comes out on top!

Kiddingly yours,

Behka
