Two Promoted as Sedalia 200 Assistant Superintendents

In closed session Monday night, the Sedalia 200 School Board approved the promotions of two district administrators to assistant superintendent roles.

The promotions went to Chris Pyle and Dr. Todd Fraley.

Pyle is currently the director of Special Services for the district, while Fraley is principal of Horace Mann Elementary.

According to information from Sedalia 200, Pyle started with the Sedalia district in January 2000 as a special education teacher. He left the district and served as a special education teacher in the Smithton School District from 2002 to 2005. He was then promoted to be Smithton’s special services coordinator, junior high assistant principal, and federal programs director for 2005-06, then became that district’s high school assistant principal, athletic director and A+ coordinator from 2006-08.

Pyle returned to Sedalia 200 in July 2008 as assistant principal at Sedalia Middle School and was promoted to director of special services in July 2012.

Fraley’s tenure with Sedalia 200 began in December 1997 when he was hired as a special education teacher. He resigned at the end of the 1998-99 school year but returned in August 2000 as a special education teacher at Smith-Cotton High School. He then served as special education coordinator in 2003-04 and assistant principal at S-C from Aug 2004 until July 2011, when he became principal at Horace Mann.

Incoming Superintendent Steve Triplett said: “I am very excited to have Mr. Chris Pyle and Dr. Todd Fraley join Dr. Nancy Scott and me on the superintendent team. Our structure at central office will change due to the growth of both our staff and student populations. Mr. Pyle’s current responsibilities of director of special education will be dissolved into an assistant superintendent role. Mr. Pyle will continue serving the district in the area of special education, as well as taking on some additional responsibilities. Mr. Pyle has been a valuable asset and I look forward to bringing his strengths to light in other areas as well."

Triplett added, “Dr. Fraley has been both a successful elementary principal and high school assistant principal since 2004. Dr. Fraley is highly organized with an attention to detail in all areas of responsibility. His level of education along with his out-of-the-box thinking will have an immediate impact on our office. I feel very blessed to welcome both Chris and Todd to our district leadership team.”

It was announced last month that Triplett had been promoted to Sedalia 200 Superintendent, following the retirement of Brad Pollitt at the end of the current school year.

Triplett, Pyle, and Fraley will assume their new roles July 1, 2018.
