Kaleb and I talked on Friday, how we can't wait for a weekend to get here when it doesn't rain. Hopefully we'll get that, but I thought it would be fun to put together some of my favorite songs involving rain. So in honor of David Letterman retiring this week, here are my top 10.

10.  The first one on my list is a sentimental favorite of mine. It reminds me of when I went to a concert with my brother and our family friend Mike and Natalia. We saw Def Leppard for my very first concert during the floods of 1993. We stopped at a gas station to pickup some canned goods, because we heard if you brought canned goods they'd give you tickets to an upcoming concert. We all bought some and the tickets ended up being for Foreigner. My brother and I decided to go check the show out and all I can say is we started in the lawn of Sandstone and ended up in the bottom rows. I swear to you, when they sang this song, the biggest rainstorm started to happen. My brother and I bought a tour shirt at the end just to have something dry to wear home. I'll never forget it.

9. This song is one that Rolling Stone ranked in the top 500 of all time in 2004. It is one my favs from CCR. The song didn't necessarily deal with the rain that is provided by mother nature, but instead was more of a protest song. I still wonder who'll stop the rain. I have to admit, I could have chose this one or 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain' from CCR.

8. Ok technically this song may not have been sung by the people we thought did it, but it makes no difference. I jammed to 'Blame It On the Rain' right along with many others when I was Junior High, until we decided to destroy all the copies, but I guess it wasn't totally forgotten. I was surprised Milli Vanilli didn't blame the lip sync on the rain.

7. One of the great things about Bob is that you can have a little bit of everything. This next one is from The Temptations and I think you can understand their sentiment of 'I Wish It Would Rain' and could it rain now please to hide my emotions, even when I play it.

6. The next two slots are reserved for songs from some of my favorite movies. One is 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' and that brings a little raindrops to keep falling on my head. The song was done by B.J. Thomas and also Burt Bacharach.

5. The next rain song comes from one of the most notable musicals of all time, 'Singing In The Rain'

4. This next one I know is debatable, because it is one of the great one hit wonders of the 1990s. Blind Melon and 'No Rain' for the list.

3. One of my favorite artist of all time is Bob Dylan and I reserve # 3 for a song with the numbers 12 and 35.

2. I think of rain and on the opposite end of the spectrum I think of fire. I almost feel like this song is 2/3s of the kids toys Battle Beasts, but James Taylor I know wasn't singing about those toys.

1. I think this is by far my favorite rain song ever and quite frankly I could play it over and over again. Guns N Roses anybody?

An honorable mention goes to the Eurthymics 'Here Comes The Rain Again' was catchy way back when and it still is in my book.
