The International Harvesters Red Power Roundup event is currently taking place on The Missouri State Fairgrounds. I had a chance to go out to the fairgrounds yesterday to check it out. It's hard to believe, but the Red Power Roundup has taken up the entire fairgrounds. From the Pepsi Grandstand down to the Swine Pavillion and stretching from the Ag Building to Mathewson Exhibition Center, The Red Power Roundup has something for just about everyone.

I had the chance to talk to several folks from all over the country. One was an author and illustrator, Billy Steers, he writes and illustrates the Mac Tractor books and has come down from Connecticut, a 19 hour drive. Make sure to take the kids over to see him, he is located by the Family Fun Center.

If you are looking for history, you will find plenty of it on the fairgrounds. LeRoy Van Dyke's father's original tractor is located by the FFA Building. You will also find a photo that was taken from The Missouri State Fair in the 1930's of a tractor, they have replicated the photo with the same model tractor.

This is one of largest shows, anywhere, dedicated to products of one brand.  An estimated 1200 tractors, 300 Cub Cadets, 200 Scouts and trucks and 100 stationary engines are on the fairgrounds this weekend. There are activities and games are planned for children.  Also, there will be number of activities for women.  They will include quilting, scrap booking, and vintage clothing seminars.

You can also grab some great food and treats as you walk down the Midway.

The event will run through Saturday afternoon, for more information visit The Red Power Roundup website.
