The house of the late Charles Schulz, creator of the iconic Peanuts comic strip, was completely destroyed on Monday when the fires arrived in the middle of the night.
In just over a decade, Boom Studios has established itself as one of the most important publishers in comics, and key to its success is the all-ages Kaboom imprint, headed up by editor Shannon Watters.
A former Tokyopop copy editor and assistant editor on titles like Irredeemable and Elric, Watters has been a part of Boom from the ground up, and even with licenses for some of the biggest properties on the planet, Watters and the creators under her have consistently traced their own path, to the delight and benefit of critics and readers.
Everyone loves trivia about their favorite animated features and series, but with over 100 years of animation history behind us right now, there’s always some new obscure fact to learn. That’s why ComicsAlliance is going deep into the minutiae of your favorite names in cartoons in this continuing video series. You think you know cartoons? Well, here’s a few things you might not know!
This week we're taking a look at the beloved series of animated adaptations of Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts!
Dig this, blockheads: The ‘Peanuts’ gang, originally created by cartoonist Charles Schulz, have appeared in so many incarnations in their 65-year history. They’ve been a comic strip, a series of much-beloved television specials, a Broadway musical, greeting card staples, and even the successful pitchmen for life insurance. Now, for the first time, they’re becoming a 3D feature film, with this year’s ‘The Peanuts Movie.’
As Charlie Brown and Snoopy are perhaps best known for their classic holiday special ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas,’ it only makes sense that the new ‘Peanuts’ trailer debuts with a very Christmas-y feel. You have to wait until next Christmas to see the CGI ‘Peanuts’ movie, but you can get a taste of what it will look and feel like with this new trailer.
Though Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang are turning 62 this November 25, it's 2015's celebration that 'Peanuts' fans should anticipate. Peanuts Worldwide, the joint venture of Charles M. Schultz Creative Associates and Iconix Brand Group, Inc., is planning to bring these beloved characters to the big screen in a feature film event a couple years from now.
Well, the state fair is here and all those familiar sights, sounds and smells are back with it. One of my favorite smells is this smell of fresh hot roasted peanuts. Did you know that the peanut stand that sits between the Bud Tent and Mango Jacks has been at the Missouri State Fair for 100 of it's 110 year history? That's amazing!
