Kids, in honor of George Michael being released from the hospital today after the car accident he was in awhile back, I thought we'd play something from him. This one is back from his 'Wham!' days.  It was surprisingly dark for a pop song, about the perils of a money grabber trying to take from someone who doesn't have enough to give.

Kids, tonight we're gonna talk about one of those bands that came to popularity during the British Invasion.

Kids, tonight I thought we'd discuss my love of the trombone. Not really, just kidding.  But this young man and his band are truly lovers of the brass.  Beirut is one of those groups like Bright Eyes or Nine Inch Nails - in that there is a band name, and there is often more than one person on stage, but in actuality the creative drive is with one person.  Like Bright Eyes is basically Conor Oberst

Kids, back in "the day" there were a few songs here and there that you'd hear and then you'd never hear from that artist again. Who are we kidding, there are still plenty of those every day, right?  Well, back in the late nineties I was engrossed in the "Alternative" music scene, so I found a lot of those.

Kids, today on the Stash we're going back to good ol' 1995.  This song is pretty much a one hit wonder, although it wasn't really a "mainstream" big hit.  It was featured in the movie 'Kids,' which launched the careers of actors you know today like Rosario Dawson and Chloe Sevigny.

Kids, tonight we're going back to the Super ';70s for our Stash.  Today's track is one of the longest songs recorded by songwriter extraordinaire, Harry Nilsson.  He's responsible for hits for Phil Spector and The Monkees and was quite close with several members of The Beatles.

Okay, kids, today we're definitely going old school.  Basically what I'm doing today is I'm going to recommend a songwriter, and not a band or singer.  Why?  Because the guy was dead before the end of the Civil War.  So he doesn't really have a record you can buy.
