Sunny skies and temps in the 50s greeted parade goers Saturday morning for the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, attended by hundreds in downtown Sedalia on Ohio Avenue.

Nearly 140 units took part in the parade, which is always held on the first Saturday of December at 10 a.m. After a long night of wind, rain and lightning, the slightly breezy but warm weather (for December) was a welcome relief.

From floats to classic cars and cowboys, to kids, dogs and horses to live music, queens, cheerleaders and politicians, and of course Santa Claus, the 2018 parade had just about everything needed to get one's mood in the holiday spirit.

Weather conditions worsened later in the day in the Sedalia area, making the 10 p.m. start time for the parade ideal.
