State Fair Community College will sponsor Bothwell Regional Health Center (BRHC) soccer day, Sunday, October 9th, at a doubleheader, at the Sports Complex west of the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.

According to a release, the first 100 fans will receive T-shirts courtesy of BRHC. They can be picked up under the SFCC tents at the northeast corner of the soccer field.
BRHC has committed funds for the next three years to the SFCC Foundation to help pay for SFCC’s new sports programs. The college added men’s and women’s soccer, softball and baseball at the beginning of this academic year.

“It’s great to have a sponsor like Bothwell helping out our athletic department,” said SFCC Athletic Director Darren Pannier. “It’s a terrific partnership for everyone involved.”
“Bothwell Regional Health Center is proud to support SFCC Athletics, and we are especially excited to host BRHC soccer day,” said Jimmy Robertson, chief executive officer of BRHC. “The addition of these four new sports programs provides more opportunities for local students to engage in healthy activities while developing critical leadership skills on and off the field.”

The Lady Roadrunners will take on Indian Hills Community College in the first match at 2 p.m. The Roadrunners will host St. Louis Community College in a Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game at 4 p.m.

Admission is free. Fans are asked to bring their own lawn chairs due to limited bleacher seating. Concessions will be available.

Lady Roadrunners and Roadrunners Head Soccer Coach Eddie Horn said BRHC exhibits excellence each day through its service to the community.

“We have a great relationship with Bothwell,” said Horn. “As we build our soccer program, we strive for excellence as well. We wanted to have a day when BRHC employees could come out with their families, enjoy some soccer and support our program. We hope to have a great crowd.”

The foundation's goal is to raise $75,000 to help fund the new sports. To date, more than $61,000 has been committed for the next three years, as well as in-kind support for athletic training, soccer field redevelopment and a scoreboard.
Pledges may be made for up to three years and are separate from Roadrunners Booster Club memberships.
