The Sedalia Senior Center is having a garage sale fundraiser on Saturday, July 21, but bargain hunters will have a chance to shop early on Friday.

"We're actually going to start setting up at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 20," said Brenda Moore with the Sedalia Senior Center. "People can come in and pre-shop. We're going to allow people to shop on the day that we're setting up the tables. We'll be here until 6 or 6:30 Friday evening, and then we'll be open from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. or 5 p.m., or whenever people stop coming, on Saturday."

Moore says that the garage sale consists of items that have been donated to the Senior Center. "We have a couple of households that have donated trailer loads of items. A lot of the stuff is still brand new, has never been opened." The Senior Center is still taking donations. Contact the Sedalia Senior Center at 660-826-0713 if you'd like to make a donation.

Holiday items, home goods, clothing, furniture, books and toys are a few of the types of items that will be offered during the garage sale. Proceeds from the garage sale will go to benefit the Sedalia Senior Center's home-delivered meals program, which serves senior citizens daily in Sedalia and Pettis County.
