Here's a look at some of our events happening this weekend.

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families are having a Toiletry Drive and a Non Perishable Food Drive. 

Missouri’s veterans need your support in meeting everyday needs.  They need :  toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body soap, disposable razors, feminine hygiene products, shaving cream, baby wipes, and Chapstick.  The drop off location for these items will be the Sedalia Family Resource Center at 505 South Kentucky, Suite A.  The SSVF will also have a food drive.  Non perishable food like canned or boxed items, beans, spaghetti, rice, vegetables and pasta can be dropped off at the Bi-Lo Grocery Store and the Dollar General in Warrensburg.  The items will be distributed at the SSVF Veteran Health Fair on June 20. There will be a Karaoke Contest for Warsaw’s Jubilee Days.
Contest finals are Saturday, June 7 from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. at the Warsaw Community Center.  You must pre-qualify and contestants must be age 18 or older.   To pre-qualify, attend one of these singing nights:   Fridays at The Valley in Warsaw, 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31 at Lincoln Inn in Lincoln, 9:00 p.m., Sundays starting May 4 at Red Baron in Cole Camp, 4:00 p.m..  Call 816-896-5550 for details, or find Debs KrazyKaraoke on Facebook.
The Boonslick Regional Library Friends of the Library Book Sale that will be held on May 16 and 17.
They'll sell from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and May 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the library meeting room.  The sale will include some used library furniture such as file cabinets, chairs, a desk, some computer and electronic equipment and a display case.  Proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase new book bins for the Children’s Department.  For information, call 827-7323.
The Sedalia Area United Methodist Churches host Paper the Community, a paper goods drive.
 It will be held on Saturday, May 17.  Collection sites are: Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Woods Supermarket, and the Dollar General on North Ohio.  Paper goods needed include:  bathroom tissue, paper towels, disposable diapers of all types and sizes, feminine products, and facial tissues.  Items will be distributed to those who need them through the Open Door Service Center.
The Cole Camp Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Rockin Bikes and BBQ event for Saturday, May 17 in downtown Cole Camp.
The motorcycle show will feature various classes and registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on North Maple Street.   The entry fee is $15.  A barbecue contest will be held on Maple Street and includes categories for ribs, brisket and chicken.  Sampling will be available from noon until 1:15 p.m.  Live music from the Full Moon Band will be featured in the Jaycee Gardens from noon until 4:00 p.m.  The Cole Camp Jaycees will host a beer garden that afternoon.   For information, email Sam Cole at Germantable@yahoo.com.
There will be a benefit auction on May 17.
The Marilyn Brock Memorial benefit Auction & Hog Roast will be held at  Friendly’s Tavern, 115 West Main Street, on Saturday, Sept. 17.  Dinner begins at 4;00 p.m., cost is $5 a plate.  For information, call (660) 851-0012.
There will be a music festival at Bright Hope Farm.
It’ll be held on Saturday, May 17 from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Bright Hope Farm in Hughesville.  Local musicians are invited to join in for a day of pickin and grinnin.  The Public is welcome, enjoy a wide variety of music throughout the afternoon.  Bring your lawn chairs and coolers.  This is a free event, but tips and donations will be accepted.  If you’d like to join the performers,  call Annie Albright to register at 660-596-3818.
