Here's a look at what's going on on our area this weekend. 

The Epworth United Methodist Church will have a spaghetti supper fundraiser.

It’ll take place on Friday, February 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church, located on Broadway and Engineer. They’ll have spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and a drink for a cost of $6 for adults and $3 for kids ten and under.

Go all in for the ‘Burg.The Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce is having their second annual Texas Hold Em Card Tournament.

It’ll be held on Friday, February 27 at Players Restaurant and Lounge at 627 East Russell. The mingle and munch social hour will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the tournament starting at 6:45 p.m. There’s no limit, a chip raffle, and $1,000 first place prize. The tickets are available at the COC office at 100 South Holden street.

CROSS is a ministry group hosting a special simulcast event.

Join us for FREE the evening of February 27th for a special simulcast event featuring speakers like John Piper and David Platt. It'll be held on February 27, 2015 @ 6:00 – 11:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church, 500 N. Park Avenue. Refreshments and nursery provided. The 42nd Annual Loafer’s Convention is coming to Green Ridge.

It’ll be held on Saturday, February 28 for one day only, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. They’ll have a silent auction which will close at 6:00 p.m., and a chicken dinner from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It’s $8 per dinner and includes chicken, bread, coffee or tea and a choice of three sides: green beans, cole slaw, potato salad, applesauce or cottage cheese. They’ll also be serving sandwiches hot dogs, chili dogs, chili, chips and desserts. It’ll be a day of loafing, playing cards or the game of your choice (bring your own cards and games). There will be a Chamber of Commerce membership drive and fire department donations will be taken. Free coffee, tea and peanuts. Sponsored by the Green Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

You’re invited to a Community Multi-Cultural Event celebrating the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King during Black History Month.

It’ll take place on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Buckner Housing Community Center, 500 Welch Court. Events of the day: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Welcoming program by speakers, dancers, singers and musicians. 2:40 p.m. International Heritage Food Tasting Contest from among all submitted food entries from men and women in our community featuring favorite traditional family recipes. 4:00 p.m. Presentation of “First, Second and Third Place Awards” as selected by our panel of judges. Each adult attendee at this event may submit one vote to determine “The People’s Choice Award”! Men and women of all nationalities from throughout our community are encouraged to submit their favorite family recipes for the judging competition in the Tasting Contest. The Big Brothers and Big Sisters will have an Entertainment Trivia Night.

It’ll be held on Saturday, February 28 at the Warrensburg Elks Lodge. They will have a Taco Bar at 6:00 p.m. and the trivia begins at 6:30 p.m. There will be a live auction between the rounds. There will be five rounds of 10 questions on topics like Reality TV, Academy Award Winning Movies, Billboard 100 hits, Rumor Has It and Who Was the Voice of?
