Join in the fun for the Relay for Life – Team Happy Feet.

They’ll have a Bear Auction on Saturday, April 27th at the Best Western Riverboat Room with the buffet starting at 5:30 p.m. and the auction at 6:30 p.m.  It’s $15 a person, or $100 for a table of seven.  All donations go to the American Cancer Society.  For information, contact Nancy at 826-0074 or Jennifer at 221-0337. The Warsaw Shrine Club Annual Crappie Tournament will be held on April 27.  

It’ll be a the Long Shoal Marina from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  You may check in after 6:00 a.m.  You do not have to be a Shriner to fish. You may trailer on Truman Lake, but you must depart from Long Shoals Parking lot and return to the lot before the deadline.  Cost is $90 a boat, with a 70% payback.  Big fish is $10 per boat, with 100% payback.  Late charge of $10 per day of the tournament.  Contact Bill Yardley at threefootley@aol.com or call at 816-769-8479 for an entry form.

The Boy Scout Pack/Troop/Team and Crew 150 and the LDS Church youth organization are doing a spring clean up fundraiser. 

It’ll be held on Saturday, April 27 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.   They’ll send a crew of youth and leaders to rake up and haul away your brush, trash, junk, old appliances, or other unwanted items, all for a monetary donation of your choice to the troop.  No tires, lead acid batteries, hazardous waste, infectious waste, radioactive material, or wet paint can be taken.  If you would like to use this service to help our youth, call Nathan or Elizabeth at 851-0636 to schedule a time.

Bothwell Regional Health Center Foundation kicks off Lub Dub Run.  

This is an event designed to raise awarness of cardiovascular health in Benton and Pettis counties. Resources raised will help bring important cardiovascular treatment to our community.  It'll begin at 8:00 a.m.  at the Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Walk MS is a fundraising 5k walk a thon to help fund awareness, treatments, and research for Multiple Sclerosis in the United States. 

This particular event is for the Mid Missouri Chapter of the MS Society, and funds raised stay in the Mid Missouri Chapter region.  The event will take place on Saturday, April 27 at the Indian Foothills Park in Marshall. Check in is at 9:00 a.m., and the walk starts at 10:00 a.m.

There will be a Relay for Life Scrapbook event sponsored by Instrumental Influence Team.

It will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.  at the University Extension Conference Room, located next to Westlake’s on Thompson Blvd. Cost: $15.00 per table. Limited to the first 20. Lunch will be provided by the Instrumental Team. Some supplies will be available for purchase. Freebie’s for everyone in attendance. Door prizes every hour. Contact Encore! The Eldorado UMC will have a Redneck Supper on April 27.

It’ll be held at the church, starting at 4:00 p.m. They’ll have sirloin  mountain oysters, three kinds of calf, pig and turkey, chicken, fish, coleslaw, baked beans, bread and homemade desserts.  There will also be country music.  To go orders are available.   Take Y West out of Sedalia to 127 south, 2 miles to AA then 6 miles to Eldorado road, and watch for the signs.

The University of Central Missouri will its annual host Earth Day 365 celebration April 22-27 with a week long celebration that invites the UCM and Warrensburg communities to “Change your behavior; change our world.”

On Saturday, April 27: UCM Service Day will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. All participants should meet at the Union Mall.   What Can I Do? A Family Festival is slated for from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the UCM Mitchell Street Farm.   Arbor Day Tree Planting will take place at 2 p.m. at the Mitchell Farm.
