A traffic accident that occurred in Pettis County Friday afternoon has claimed the life of a Sedalia woman.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Janna M. McQueen was the driver of an eastbound 2010 Chevy Malibu on US 50, west of Route W, at 2:11 p.m. Nov. 16 when the Malibu traveled into the westbound lane and struck a 2015 Kenworth tractor trailer head-on.

The driver of the Kenworth, 46-year-old Bruce A. Robbins of Menahga Minn., was reportedly uninjured. His truck had extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.

McQueen was flown by Life Light to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, where she later died from her injuries at 7:07 p.m. She was wearing a safety device, according to the report.

The Malibu was totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.

A total of four troopers worked the scene, along with Pettis County deputies and Pettis County Fire personnel.
