Are you looking for a safe, fun way to celebrate Halloween in Sedalia? Check out some of the activities coming up for 2018.

Thompson Hills Animal Clinic will host their 2nd annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 27 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. The animal clinic is located at 1201 Thompson Blvd.


The Sedalia Noonday Optimist Club will sponsor their annual Haunted Hayride on Saturday, October 27 at the Pepsi Grandstand on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Proceeds from the annual event benefit several local youth programs and activities in the area. The Optimist Clubs says there will be no presale tickets this year. Tickets will only be sold at the event. The Haunted Hayride takes place from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.


RE/MAX of Sedalia is hosting a trunk or treat event on October 31, along with Movement Mortgage and TheHomesTour.com, located at 1435 Thompson Blvd. The event is scheduled from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.


Parkview Christian Church will host a Trunk or Treat event on Sunday, October 28 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The church is located at 1405 E. 16th Street.


All area children are invited to trick or treat on The Avenues in Downtown Sedalia from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on October 31. Participating shops and businesses will have the orange jack-o-lantern poster displayed. Children should be accompanied by an adult during the trick or treating event.


Calvary Baptist Church on W. 16th Street will host Trunk or Treat on October 31, beginning at 5:00 p.m.


Sacred Heart School will hold Trunk or Treat on October 31 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. The school is located at 416 W. 3rd Street.


LifePointe Church will host trunk or treat on October 31, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. LifePointe is located at 2500 E. Broadway Blvd.


The Sedalia Moose Lodge is also hosting Trunk or Treat on October 31, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. There will be free hot dogs and drinks for kids, along with a ton of candy! The Pettis County Fire Department will also be set-up with fire trucks.


First Baptist Church will host the free Annual Children’s Fall Festival on October 31. The doors open at 5:00 p.m., with a performance by magician Duane Luffin from 5:30 – 7:30. All children up to 6th grade are invited to attend. There will be free hot dogs, drinks, candy and door prizes. Bounce houses and several games will also be set-up at the event. Costumes are welcome, but the church is kindly requesting NO evil or scary costumes. Children must be accompanied by a parent.


Real Life Church in Sedalia will host Trunk or Treat on October 31, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The church is located at 110 W. 24th Street.


The 2nd annual Trick or Treat Bash on Broadway is scheduled for October 31 at the Check into Cash parking lot. Children are invited to begin at Heights Finance and work their way down the line of businesses to Security Finance. The trick or treat bash will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Participating businesses include Heights Finance, Sun Loan, Joe Close Agency, Bandana’s BBQ, Factory Connection, Check into Cash, Papa Johns Pizza, Jimmy John’s, Title Max, Vapor Maven, Security Finance and Bella Nails.


It was noted that Smith-Cotton's DECA trunk or treat will not take place this year. However, a Halloween-themed Kidabaloo will take place at Sedalia Middle School on October 26. Admission to Kidabaloo is $5.00, and admission includes just every activity for the kids - bounce houses, face painting and contests. The only additional cost would be related to purchasing items or concessions from vendors that are set up on site. Kidabaloo is from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
