Russell Stover is a hub of activity right now with Valentine's Day landing right in the middle of the week this year.

Store Manager Vicky Skrzypcak said that her store, located at 1021 S. Limit, is open for extended hours on Valentine's Day in anticipation of the expected crush of love-struck customers.

“We're open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.,” Skrzypcak said on Tuesday. She also mentioned that she has 10 temps working the store leading up to the big holiday.

The store appeared to be fully stocked and ready for last-minute buyers. And there was a large supply of chocolate-covered strawberries just waiting to fly out the door (or the drive-through window).

“We have plenty of supplies,” Skrzypcak said, adding that she has white chocolate, dark chocolate and milk chocolate-covered strawberries for sale. “We drizzle them, we sprinkle them, pretty much any way anybody wants them. We come in at 3 o'clock in the morning and start dipping, because we will do approximately 2,500 berries (on Valentine's Day)."

A lot of customers pre-order their goodies and pick them up in drive-through. “As a matter of fact, we were just counting them, and (Wednesday) we have over 100 pre-orders that we have to have ready when we open,” Skrzypcak said. “And we'll get it done.”
