Overland Park Veterans Celebration Taking Place Today
Veteran's Day is coming up, and there are a few celebrations taking place that day. But, if you're looking for another opportunity to thank our Veterans, maybe you'll want to head up to Overland Park a little early. Sprint and Black & Veatch will host a Veterans Day Celebration co-sponsored by V.E.T.S. (Veterans and Employees helping others Through Sprint), YRC and the City of Overland Park. The free 2016 Veterans Day celebration is open to employees, friends & family and the general public, and will feature:
• A-10 Thunderbolts from Whiteman Air Force Base
• An aerial performance by the BeechNutz formation team
• Military aircraft
• Vehicle and equipment displays
• Sporting Kansas City players
• Mascots K.C. Wolf and Sluggerrr
• Local first responders
• Historical military vehicles
• Military museums
• Toys 4 Tots donations
• Johnson County Community College Chorus performance of patriotic music
It'll be held today, Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Sprint Campus (117 and Nall Ave., Overland Park, KS). So if you can, make it by to thank a Veteran today.
Thankfully yours,
