I know you're knee deep in Christmas songs everywhere you go. You probably hear the same ten songs or so in every different place you go.  But now you might be able to mix it up a little in your holiday playlist! This particular ditty is from all the way back to 1962.

I had to do a little digging about this girl group.  They had a few incarnations in the early sixties, going by either this name or The Teen Dreams, or Debbie and the Teen Dreams.  I'm not sure why they're named Debbie and the Darnells, since none of the girls are named Debbie or Darnell (Their names were Joan Yutenkas, Dorothy Yutenkas, and Marie Brancotti
). It looks like they were based out of the New Jersey area and mostly had local hits there.

And there's no real indication that Santa CAN dance, or that he would have time to teach our Debbie. Wouldn't you want to go to a class for that? Santa's busy.

Anyway, it's a cute song, and it's something different. Enjoy.

Dancily yours,
Behka
