Off Kilter Christmas Songs: Billy Idol

When I think of Billy Idol, I have a very distinct image in my mind. I'm pretty sure some of you do, too.  You're thinking of a spiky haired, snarling rocker that's rebelling against the establishment, right? The guy with the "Rebel Yell" who is rocking "The Cradle of Love" and looking for a nice day for a "White Wedding"! The one that scarred me for life by putting a ring on lady's hand and making it bleed on MTV.

You know, that guy!

Well something happened to Billy Idol over the years, 'cos he got happy and he got holidays and he got it HARD.  I think he broke his face from smiling so much in this video. I don't think Billy Idol has EVER smiled as much as he does in these two minutes.  It's part funny, part festive, and part... strange.

Yes, Billy Idol put out a holiday album. No originals, all standards.  So if you're looking for a little something different to play while you're out looking at Christmas lights... you can slip this one in your mix.
