Arcade Fire has been performing a cover of John Lennon's "Mind Games" on their current Infinite Content tour, and recorded a version in the studio for Spotify's Single series. The streaming service also captured a new take on "Everything Now," the title track of their recently released fifth album. You can listen to both songs above.

"Mind Games" is the title track of Lennon's 1973 solo album, a song covered by numerous other artists including Sinead O'Connor, George Clinton, Gavin Rossdale and even actor Kevin Spacey.

Arcade Fire's first live performance of the song came in August, in an intimate Lollapalooza after-show at Chicago's Metro. The song was part of their second encore that night, in which the the band blended Radiohead's "Karma Police" (off of their 1997 OK Computer), with a sprinkling of David Bowie's "Oh! You Pretty Things," (from his 1971 Hunky Dory) and their own 2004 Funeral track "Wake Up" into the Lennon tune.

The Spotify series has also included The Japanese House's take on Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide," the Local Natives' own "Ultralight Beam," Cage the Elephant's "Whole Wide World" and Tears for Fears' cover of Radiohead's "Creep."

Arcade Fire's North American Infinite Content tour follows the release of Everything Now. It began in Quebec on Sept. 5, and will wrap in Toronto on Nov. 3. The band has employed some unusual publicity tactics to promote the album, including the hiring and firing of a fake PR firm.
