Lincoln, MO Man Charged in Death of Girlfriend

Benton County authorities arrested a 47-year old Lincoln man this week after his girlfriend was found deceased from a gunshot wound.

A press release from the Benton County Sheriff's Department indicates that early Wednesday morning, deputies responded to an address on Spirit Drive near Lincoln MO in reference to a gunshot victim.

The victim was identified as 32-year old Kathy R. Bolejack, who was found deceased  from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

The reporting party, identified as 47-year old Shawn P. Jones, of Lincoln, initially stated his girlfriend (Bolejack) took her own life. After deputies conducted an investigation, several inconsistency were discovered which reportedly led them to believe that a crime had been committed.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drugs and Crime Control were notified and asked to assist in the investigation.

Further investigation led authorities to believe that Jones perpetrated the shooting death of Bolejack.

Jones was charged with Voluntary Man Slaughter, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He is being held in the Benton County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
