Large Amount of Drugs Found During Search of Pettis County Residence

A Pettis County man was arrested on March 11 after Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, detectives with the Mid-Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers executed a search warrant at a residence around 11 a.m. in the area of Chmelir Rd. 

Authorities say large amounts of methamphetamine, packing materials, digital scales, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were discovered during the search. A suspect, Thomas Pitts, reportedly tried to evade law enforcement by climbing out a bedroom window with evidence.

Pitts was arrested on charges of delivery of a controlled substance, first degree trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful use of a weapon. He was placed on a 24-hour hold and later issued a warrant for $100,000 cash or surety. He is also being detained on a no-bond probation and parole warrant.
