Impact Signs, Awnings and Wraps was one of three sign companies in Missouri that celebrated National Sign Manufacturing Day on Friday, October 3 with tours of their Sedalia facility, located at 22705 N. 65 Highway.

According to Randy Goodson, Impact Signs owner and current president of the Tri-State Sign Association, "People should be made aware of what our industry has to offer in jobs, and what we do for the local and state economy. We employ 2,670 people in the sign industry in Missouri. It's a $460 million a year industry in Missouri, compared to $110 million per year in Kansas and $240 million in Oklahoma.”

Goodson said that Impact built and installed signs for "nearly every hospital in Missouri, and every single sign that’s on the side of a medical building or a hospital on the MU campus in the last five years has been built by us.” He added, "The same holds true for Mizzou Arena, (inside and out) Fourot Field, and all around the university."

Local school children toured the plant Friday morning. Students taking the tour were treated to popcorn and a free water bottle, and local officials got a chance to take a tour and eat lunch at the facility.

Those taking the tour got to watch one of the company’s new trucks being wrapped.
