You guys, I have always thought of myself as a cat person. We never had dogs growing up, we had a cat from time to time. For a while, I even had a weird phobia or nervousness with dogs. I guess I was freaked out that they would bite me? I don't know.

Then several years ago I was working in a shop and the owner had a big, friendly German Shepherd puppy. She was the sweetest and really helped me get over my nervousness. Didn't get me to go get a dog, though. I felt like a dog might be too much responsibility - with a cat, you can kind of leave them alone for an afternoon and have no fear.

But now, it seems like lately if there's anything on Animal Planet that has anything to do with a dog, I'm in. And Youtube? I'm endlessly finding video after video about rescues and transformations, and all that stuff.

So, it's got me thinking - do I REALLY want a dog? I know I can't get one right now (we have three cats, that's one too many to add another animal). So what am I gonna do, just torture myself with Animal Planet and Youtube? I guess. I do know that when I do get a dog - or IF I get a dog - I'll adopt. The Sedalia Animal Shelter is a great group with a lot of love in everything they do.

LOOK AT THAT FACE. So adorable. Eugh. Maybe I can just go over and hold a couple of em? I'd better not. It would be hard to leave them. Bringing home sixty dogs has to be grounds for divorce.

Do you have a dog? How'd you get it? Is this how it happens, you just suddenly want one and then you just go into a fugue state and get one?

Muttly yours,
Behka
