Like many New Yorkers, the Brooklyn-based indie-pop band HAERTS aren't natives. Coming from England, Germany and the U.S., the quartet settled in New York's hippest music region and began playing together a couple of years ago.

They released their moody and catchy synth-pop debut single, 'Wings,' in 2012, and have been building buzz ever since.

Following the release of another single -- 'All the Days' -- HAERTS released their debut EP, 'Hemiplegia,' in 2013. Both of their singles can be found on the record.

The group is now working on new music, and recently stopped by our friends at Consequence of Sound to perform an exclusive new song, 'Heart' (which you can watch above), as part of the #NextUp series presented by Dodge, which highlights emerging artists to watch.

HAERTS also sat down for a chat and talked about songwriting, starting as a studio project and performing live in dark clubs and sunny outdoor stages. You can watch the interview below.
