The Green Ridge Harvest Fun Fest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Green Ridge Park. This is an annual event, and each year it gets better and better!

The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. They’ll have food, games, crafts, prince and princess contest, Air Evac, Life Flight, Smokehouse, EMA, silent auction, pie auction, tractor show, shine and show car show.  Those events are sponsored by the Green Ridge Chamber of Commerce.  I got to talk with Barbara, one of the organizers of the event, about what you can expect.

There are some other events that'll be happening in Green Ridge that aren't COC events, but they're just as exciting! They're also going to have an Inaugural Ridge Runner 5k Run/Walk that same day. The registration begins that morning at 6:30 a.m. and the run begins at 8:00 a.m. They’ll meet at the Green Ridge City Park. The 5k run will go down and back on the Katy Trail (southwest), and the 2.5 Fun Walk will go down and back on the Katy Trail (northeast).  The registration fee is $25. There will be prizes awarded, and several different divisions for runners. Pickup your forms to register at Fringe Hair Salon or at Main Street Logo.  Make your checks to GRRO and mail the form and check to 31649 Hinken Road, Green Ridge 65332. All proceeds benefit the Green Ridge Recreation Organization. That night, Cedar Creek will also perform.

For more information on the Harvest Fest, call Jim at 660-620-3944 or Barbara at 660-620-3485. Make sure you check it out and spend a great day in Green Ridge!

Harvestily yours,
Behka
