I was born in the seventies, and the eighties were a good time to be a kid. I started listening to music in the nineties, at the tender age of nine.I will never forget the first day of fifth grade at Horace Mann Elementary.  The teacher was trying to get to know us, and was asking us about what we liked and disliked.  She asked us what our favorite song was, and every hand in the room went up.  Then a kid said their favorite song was "Hanging Tough", by the New Kids On the Block.

About twenty out of thirty hands went down.  Including mine.  But, as I grew, I wanted to be "DiFfeRenT" so I started hating on them and reached out to alternative music (Think REM, Nirvana, you get it).

As an adult, I can appreciate a good pop song. My tastes may be different now, but a good pop song is hard to beat.  And if you're looking for nostalgia, man, are the New Kids delivering.  They've just announced a new tour called the Mixtape Tour, and it has just about everybody you remember from the late eighties and early nineties.

New Kids on the Block, Tiffany, Salt N Pepa, Debbie Gibson, Naughty by Nature...and they've done a new song that features all of them. You can't get tickets yet, that's on  Friday. The tour will be next year, and has two Missouri dates!  the first one is on Tuesday, May 7 at the Sprint Center, and the second is on Wednesday May 8 at the Enterprise Center in St Louis.

So hey, fellow eighties/nineties kids, you might be in for a treat!

Down with OPPingly yours,

Behka
