Okay, guys, I have been doing this gig for a minute now, and I thought I knew just about all there was to know about the biggest hits of the last fifty years or so. But, every now and then, I get checked. The Missouri State Fair recently announced one of their concert nights that will include The Atlanta Rhythm Section. I have to admit, when I saw the name, I thought, "Who?"

Can you believe that? ME?  Of all people?!

But then I thought, maybe it's a generational thing. Maybe it's just because my parents didn't listen to them. That and our stations are where I got most of my musical knowledge. Well, other than my "curious years" where I looked up everything and anything I could and actively looked for new music every day.  So, to the Googles I went!  I was going to find out about this band!

1.  So Into You.

I have heard this song before! I guess I just didn't put the name with the tune.

2.  Imaginary Lover.

That's another one that I KNOW I've heard before. Heck, I've probably played that on my show.  What is it about the name that isn't sticking?

3. I'm Not Going To Let it Bother Me Tonight.

I have a vague recollection of hearing this one. I think might have been in a movie? For some reason I can get some vibes from a trashy comedy where the hero is boring and a real star is in a minor role. Eugh, that's gonna bother me.

4.  Spooky.

This is another one that I know I've heard. It's a cover of the original by Dusty Springfield (who I admit I am more familiar with).  It's a very, for lack of a better word, "Groovy" version.  No wonder it was a hit!

Well, there it is. I knew more than I thought I did, which is something? What's your favorite ARS song? Will you see them in concert this year at the Fair? Let me know what you think!

Spookily yours,
Behka
