Gearing Up for a Big Blues Weekend

This will be a big weekend for yours truly regarding the blues show.  This morning, I will get a chance to interview Willie J. Campbell, one of the members of Mannish Boys.  If you have listened to my blues show you have heard us play music from their album 'Double Dynamite.'  This past Thursday, the Mannish Boys won the Blues Music Award for best Traditional Blues Album. It is by far one of my favorite albums of the past several years.

I am so excited to be able to do this interview.  My thanks to Richard DeFord,  not known for being a blues fan, for hooking me up with this interview.  Willie lives in Marshall, Mo. Who knew?  You can hear this interview on the Sat. Night Blues Show at 6 p.m.

Then this evening I am headed to Emporia Kansas to see two of my favorite ladies of the blues, Sena Erhardt and Cassie Taylor.  I have been asked to emcee that show, and I want to thank my friend Don Schlessleman and his crew for that awesome invitation.

I will post lots of pictures and have lots of stories to tell when I come back.  By the way tickets are still available for that show if you want to make that trip.  You know I have a great passion for the blues, and this should be a very therapeutic weekend.
