Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is going to launch a new Harry Potter franchise whether you like it or not. The next installment will dive a little bit deeper into Newt Scamander’s past and also flesh out Dumbledore’s backstory and how it all connects to the beginnings of Voldemort. We already know that Newt has a very important ex, but apparently he also has a family, as his brother is currently being cast.

Variety reports that Green Room star Callum Turner is in the running for the part, and no other details are known at this time. It’s a good bit of casting — he and Eddie Redmayne look eerily similar (Turner’s the one with the green hair in the above photo). He’s a few years younger than Redmayne, so we can probably assume that he’s Newt’s little brother. Turner would join Johnny Depp, who is returning as the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, and Jude Law, who has been cast as young Albus Dumbledore.

Warner Bros. has done an admirable job creating a story for Newt Scamander out of essentially nothing, and the fact that they’re weaving it in with the Dumbledore subplot from the final Harry Potter book (that didn’t make it into the movies) probably helps a lot. The studio has largely ignored fans’ clamors for a Marauders series about Potter’s father James and his three shapeshifting school buddies, but maybe once they finish up with Scamander and co., another spinoff will be on its way. One thing we figured out when Fantastic Beasts premiered is that Harry Potter fever will never die.

The still untitled Fantastic Beasts sequel hits theaters November 16, 2018.
