We’re going to need bigger Little Lies. Our first official photo from Season 2 of the awards-gobbling HBO miniseries has arrived, as Nicole Kidman invites none other than Meryl Streep to overload Monterey with star-power.

Kidman debuted what appears to be the first formal photo of Big Little Lies’ hotly-anticipated second season, as the Oscar-winning Streep joins in the role of Perry (Alexander Skarsgård)’s mother, Mary-Louise Wright. The character is said to arrive in Monterey in search of both her grandchildren and answers to her son’s fate, as Perry – spoiler alert – took a fatal tumble in Season 1 at the hands of Zoë Kravitz’s Bonnie. Along with Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, HBO has also assured that Season 2 will feature the whole returning cast of Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgård, Adam Scott, Iain Armitage, Kathryn Newton, Robin Weigert, Merrin Dungey and Sarah Sokolovic. New additions beside Streep include Crystal R Fox, Mo McRae and Douglas Smith.

Writer David E. Kelley will return to pen all seven episodes, while Transparent and American Honey director Andrea Arnold will take over for Jean-Marc Vallée. The Liane Moriarty-inspired sequel is said to follow the “malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode … the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.”

Big Little Lies Season 2 is expected to premiere in 2019, so stay tuned for the latest.
