One of the bands performing at the Lions Club Blues Cruise and BBQ Festival on June 1 is a great young band out of Columbia: Mojo Roots.  These guys may be young, but they certainly understand and pay tribute to history of the blues, and I respect that a lot.  They have a new CD out and it is terrific!

Most of the songs are written by Jordon Thomas, the lead singer and harp player for the band, but they do a couple of classics as well, one old Otis Redding tune and the other a old John Mayall tune.

My favorite is a Thomas penned tune called "Green Eyed Baby."  Jordon said it was one of the first songs he ever wrote.  I did a interview with Jordon that you can listen to below.  It will air on this Saturday night's Blues Show too, I hope you will tune in to hear it at 6 p.m.

I am a big fan, and you will get a chance to see them live June 1 at the Lions Club Blues Festival, and again at the end of June at the Bear Creak Music Festival in Slater.  Go see them, they are sensational!

Also make sure you register to become a BOB Squad member and we'll will give you a chance to win tickets at both events.
