After weighing the desire to provide the same kind of quality commencement experience that other University of Central Missouri graduates have enjoyed against current, increasing limitations posed by COVID-19, UCM today announced it is canceling commencement exercises planned for Saturday, Aug. 1.
Smith-Cotton High School seniors Aaron Hughes and Hunter Sparks have been selected for the 2020 Missouri Scholars 100, a statewide program that honors 100 of Missouri's top academic students in the graduating class of 2020.
Smith-Cotton High School Principal Wade Norton announced that the May 16 date for Commencement is canceled and that the graduation ceremony for both Smith-Cotton and Whittier High seniors is now set for 7 p.m. July 18 in the Mathewson Exhibition Center.
