Rodeo enthusiasts are looking forward to the last two weekends in February, when bull riding and pro rodeo returns to the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

The Mathewson Exposition Center at the Missouri State Fairgrounds will host Federation Productions' NFPB bull riding February 19-20, and Pro Rodeo February 26-27.

2016 marks the 21st anniversary of the event. "21 years this has been going on," said organizer Todd Pettigrew. "We have huge support from the community. Great sponsors help us take care of this event. Because of them, they help keep ticket prices low."

Pettigrew says the rodeo is a great event for families with children. "We love for kids to come. and the kids love the event, too." Mutton bustin' for kids will take place each night. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for mutton bustin'. Participants will be selected by a random drawing.

Pettigrew said that there are some local bull riders that grew up going to the rodeo and bull riding in Sedalia. "There are quite a few local talents that participate."

Ticket outlets are Gene's Boots & Hats, Dukes & Boots, and Dairy Queen in Sedalia. Ticket buyers can save $2 by purchasing tickets in advance at these outlets, but tickets will be available at the door each night. Adults are $14 and children 4-12 are $7. The number for the State Fair Ticket Office is 660-530-5607.
