Bothwell to Offer ‘Safe Sitter’ Class in June

Bothwell Regional Health Center will conduct a Safe Sitter babysitting education class on Friday, June 1.

BRHC says the class will take place from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Bothwell Education Center, located at 600 E. 14th Street.

This class is designed for children in 6th - 8th grades. The Safe Sitter Program is described as a one-day course that includes pediatric CPR training and can teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.

Students in the class will have the opportunity to learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant.

The cost for the class is $35.00 and includes a messenger bag containing babysitting essentials.

Preregistration and payment is required by May 25. For more information, call 660-827-9138. Bothwell says that class size is limited.
