The Boonslick Regional Library in Sedalia is working hard to help people keep reading. For a lot of kids out there, books themselves can be kind of passe, especially since so many of them have smartphones, computers, and tablets.  So Boonslick, wanting to keep the kids reading, has embraced this new technology.

Not only do they have some great programs for adults, they've got some interesting programs for the younger readers, too.  For the grown ups, they've got sessions about learning how to use eReaders like the Nook, Kindle, or any other tablet. They show you how download eBooks and how to read the books on the device.

For the kids, they've got a new program called the Big Library Read Program. Library card holders will be able to borrow and enjoy eBook and audiobook versions of "Nancy Clancy, Super Sleuth". I got to talk to Linda Allcorn with Boonslick about the details.

Book one in the Nancy Clancy series is available on the iPhone, iPad, Nook, Android and Kindle, and you don't have to worry about wait lists or holds.  So make sure you stop by and find out more and see everything they've got including computers, DVDs, CDs, magazines and spaces just for teens.

Go by the library at 219 West Third street, visit their website, or give them a call at 660-827-4668.

Bookishly yours,

Behka
