Band Aid 30’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ -- watch the video starring Bono, Ellie Goulding, One Direction and more above -- has quickly become the fastest selling single of 2014 in the U.K., exceeding 312,000 copies sold in its first week. Nevertheless, the song’s organizer, Bob Geldof, is asking fans to delete the song and download it again in order to raise more money for a charity that provides medical aid to those suffering from the Ebola outbreak in west Africa.

Geldof is making the request because, as he points out, the single’s $1.29 price point is only a fraction of the cost of the 1984 version’s price of £3.50. As a result, the song still has a long way to go before reaching the $8 million raised by the original Band Aid in its first week.

“We need to sell 300% more than we did then to even begin to make up the cash figure,” Geldof said in an interview with BBC Radio 1. “That worries me … Even if you already have it, delete; download again.”

While you can’t actually download the same track twice -- iTunes allows you to re-download songs for free, if you’ve already purchased them -- you can gift the song to someone else for the 99-cent price.

Or, you can wait until the single arrives on CD on Dec. 8, which will cost $3.99.
