The 2018 Missouri State Fair is underway through August 19 in Sedalia. There is plenty of live music scheduled for the fair. A popular local band, Bluestem, will be playing on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Larry Foster's Roadhouse.

Bluestem was founded in 2011 and has been playing steadily ever since. Members Andrew Beeman, Corey Masterson, Trenton Scott, and Brenton Yates all share a love for real music. Genres that the band plays include: Red Dirt, Classic Country, Classic Rock, 90's Country, and Linedance Country. Since Bluestem's formation, all the members have striven to play songs people can dance to. Along with playing covers, Brenton and Trenton have both written numerous originals that they perform with the group. Any show they play is guaranteed to be a good time.

Bluestem is from Windsor, Missouri. The group was Texaco Country Showdown State Finalists in 2013 and 2014, and took the runner up position at the Missouri State Fair Idol contest in 2014. Bluestem cites Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, Randy Rogers, AC/DC and Sawyer Brown as major influences.
