Did you have a good New Years Eve? Did you spend it quietly, or maybe partying with your friends? However you may have spent it, we can guess that it probably would have been made better if you spent it with Bille Joe Armstrong. The Green Day frontman spent his New Year's Eve in New York City at Jesse Malin's East Village club Berlin, partying it up with some musical legends like Tommy Stinson of The Replacements and The E Street Band's Steven Van Zandt for an excellent night of tunes.

The lineup included the aforementioned musicians as well as Blondie’s Clem Burke, The Hold Steady’s Tad Kubler, Jesse Malin himself, Jesse’s collaborator Don DiLego, Bille Joe's sons and other various friends. The group performed a swath of different covers, including The Replacements' "Color Me Surprised." It was a joyous party, with musicians passing off guitars at will, enjoying the night.

For those who want to own some Green Day history, the group recently teamed up with music marketplace Reverb to sell off a huge chunk of their gear in a "garage sale." There's still some great items up for grabs for any super-fan, including a beautiful 1964 Stratocaster owned by Armstrong, and a host of pieces used in recording.

Armstrong also teamed up with Kat Von D for a new eyeliner range dubbed "Basket Case" after the band's popular hit. A release date isn't out yet, but Kat Von D promised fans can have it "soon."
