Everything Under The Sea: Aquaman’s Weirdest Silver Age Moments
Things were weird for everyone in the Silver Age, but they were all the weirder for Aquaman. Living under the ocean, surrounded by sea life, and in an era when accurate science was even less of a priority for comic book storytelling, basically anything could happen to Aquaman as long as it involved water.
This gallery showcases some of his strangest moments from the Silver Age, featuring material from Adventure Comics and Aquaman's solo title.
Good Thing: Women’s Wrestling Dominates ‘Elimination Chamber’
The long-promised "Women's Revolution" in wrestling may finally take root this weekend. Sunday February 12 is the Elimination Chamber live event on the WWE Network, the first branded Pay-Per-View (a colloquial word these days, but one that's stuck) for Smackdown Live in 2017. Of the seven matches announced for the show, three are women's singles matches. In fact, there's only one men's singles match, with the other three being multi-man gimmick matches, including the titular main event in the elimination chamber. And that's a big deal.

Fantastic Five: Best Defenders
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.
The Defenders are often considered the also-rans of Marvel super-teams. They lack the prestige of the Avengers and the popularity of the X-Men, and the Champions have them them for "most ridiculous." But now that they're getting a TV series on Netflix, it's time to give the Defenders a closer look. The lineup of the classic team, which debuted in 1971, was very different from the Netflix version. So with that in mind, we've put together five of the very best members of the original Defenders.
‘Box Office Poison’ Returns In Full Color [Exclusive Preview]
A classic of indie comics is returning in 2017, and it's in full color for the first time. Box Office Poison is the magnum opus of cartoonist Alex Robinson, a sprawling saga about what people give up for their art, and for what people give up their art. And now Robinson's art is being colored by Pat N. Lewis, giving a whole new look to the original comics.
‘Legend Of Wonder Woman’ And The Suppression Of Creator Dissent
As we contemplate the world of comics (and the world at large) in 2016, and the unfortunately inevitable controversies to come, it seems appropriate to be concerned about the recent events surrounding the cancellation of Legend of Wonder Woman, and the environment that's created when those making comics are afraid to express concerns for fear of losing their jobs. It's troubling enough that very few comics creators have job security or benefits, but expecting them to watch what they say at all times for fear of unemployment can only make that lack of security feel that much worse.
Art And Violence Meet In ‘The Electric Sublime’ #3 [Preview]
Anyone who romanticizes the intersection of art and pain should meet the villain of The Electric Sublime, a comic by W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morazzo. In this preview of the third issue, we find him at work, painting with the blood of a man he's holding prisoner and torturing. And he's doing it while wearing an Andy Warhol wig, no less. What he's painting is the winky-face icon we've been seeing since the first issue, and doing it human blood has to be a clue to how the magical stuff that's been going on has been accomplished.

Colleen Coover’s Erotic Comedy ‘Small Favors’ Coming In Hardcover From Limerence Press
Before her Eisner-winning work on Bandette, cartoonist Colleen Coover was best known for a lighthearted queer erotica comic called Small Favors. For years now, Small Favors has been discussed as a classic of comics erotica, and a rare book about sex by a women, aimed at women, about women who love women (but of course people who aren't women can enjoy it too). And for years, it's been out of print. But Limerence Press, the recently established Oni Comics imprint that focuses on erotica and sex education, is changing that.
Coming in April 2017, Small Favors will be available in a new hardback collection, which includes both volumes of the black and white comic, plus the color special.

After multiple controversies and a lot of questions about the book's future, Rat Queens is returning to Image Comics with a new first issue and a new artist, Owen Gieni, joining writer Kurtis J. Wiebe.
