If you thought 2017 was miserable, wait until you see how Unfortunate next year gets. Netflix has released a first look at the alliterative awfulness of A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2, now set for a spring 2018 premiere.

Ever one to tout its own terribleness, Netflix sent out four new photos from the forthcoming season, which now has an unspecified spring 2018 premiere date. The new sneak peeks reveal Neil Patrick Harris in even more costumes (fancy Andrew Dice Clay?), as well as what appears to be both the “Austere Academy” and “Hostile Hospital” of the fifth and eighth books.

Elsewhere of Season 2, we know Harris’ former Dr. Horrible nemesis Nathan Fillion will join the cast alongside Veep and Arrested Development favorite Tony Hale, Sara Rue, Lucy Punch and Roger Bart. The second season will consist of ten episodes, adapting the franchise’s fifth novel (The Austere Academy) through the ninth (The Carnivorous Carnival).

The series is likely to end with its third season. Season 1 of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is available to binge on Netflix in the meantime.
