I think if I were to lose either my son or daughter I would have no idea how I would react. I think anybody that has lost a son or daughter at a young age goes through a lot of pain and grief.

Musicians have this way of making that pain and grief be shared through a lyric, a song or even an album. Sometimes it's done in a negative way and sometimes it is positive. In the case of Eric Clapton it was very positive.

Eric Clapton is one of my favorite guitar players and singers ever and it was on this day in history (March 20) in 1991 when Clapton's son, Conor, fell through a window of an apartment in New York and died.

He took this moment in his life and shared it with all of us with 'Tears In Heaven' along with Will Jennings, rather than bottling it up and keeping his thoughts inside. The song didn't come out until January of 2002, but when it did it quickly went up the charts. It ended up winning several Grammy Awards.

It has been said that he doesn't sing Tears In Heaven very often anymore in public, but I think we can all stand still and appreciate the fact he opened up his door at that time of his life and shared a beautiful written and well done song. We all mourn in different ways, but this had to be one of the most unique and special tributes ever done.
