A 27-year old Windsor man armed with a knife was arrested on multiple charges Wednesday night in Henry County.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department says that deputies responded to the 1000 block of NE 900 Road in regards to a man wanted on several felony probation violation warrants. The subject of the warrant had reportedly threatened violence towards law enforcement in the past.

At the residence, the suspect, 27-year old Cody James Jennings, of Windsor, exited the rear of the residence attempting to flee law enforcement officers. However, deputies were awaiting his exit and chased him back into the residence where Jennings entered a bedroom and closed the door, according to a press release from the Henry County Sheriff. As deputies entered the bedroom, Jennings had allegedly armed himself with a knife. Deputies say they disarmed Jennings and took him into custody.

Jennings has 3 probation violations warrants on originals charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree Burglary, and Resisting Arrest. Jennings also had a Clinton Municipal warrant for Stealing.

Jennings was taken to the Henry County Detention Center.
